The first New
Mexico State Fair Angora Goat
Show
has been approved for 2009. The show has been narrowed
down to one of three days being Sept. 24, 25, or 26, depending
on when the open sheep show can be coordinated as many exhibitors
bringing goats are also interested in entering open sheep.
There will be three divisions being AAGBA (white) registered,
CAGBA (colored) registered, and Navajo Angora Goats. All
three will have there own show and will be formatted as closely
to the standard show format of there respective organizations.
There will also be wether classes for each division. The
judge for all three divisions will be Dee Hadorn, of Cerulean
Farms in Harrah, OK. I believe her record with the Texas
A & M Angora goat performance testing speaks for itself
as to her capabilities for judging. I will serve as Superintendent
of the show, with Debra Haden of McIntosh, NM as my Asst.
Superintendent. Any and all questions can be directed to
either of us. My email is valcwby01@aol.com, Debra's is goatgirl@wildblue.net.
Information will be finalized and show format set by May
of 2009 or sooner and can be found on the State Fair web
site at www.exponm.com. No online entries will be available
and will need to be mailed in. As soon as the address is
set with entry fees being determined, it will be posted. |
